Team Fife make it a Cup Double in Perth

Colin McGinlay’s Team Fife completed a cup double at Bell’s Sports Centre last night with their Premier League side easing victory after their Recreational League side had won their cup a couple of Sundays ago.

It wasn’t plain sailing for Team Fife though. Their opening fixture was against Eagles and the Perth side started brightly taking a  7-0 lead. Eagles went on to win the first set 25-18. The second set saw Team Fife get into gear winning 25-11 before sealing victory in the third set with a 15-9 score.

The Fife side then played Mental Blocks and things were looking good after a 25-16 first set win but Blockers surprised Fifers by edging a close second set 26-24 before dumping the Fife side with a 15-12 third set decider.

Team Fife’s final game was against Dodgy Spikers who had won their two previous games against Eagles and Mental Blocks. Fife knew they had to win by two clear sets to lift the silver trophy and this they did winning 25-21; 25-14 to make is a cup double for the Fife club.
