Ellen Ranklin’s Team Fife continued their winning ways at Perth College on Sunday evening as the local recreational teams met for the first set of fixtures after the league split.
The Fife side opened Sunday’s play against Aberuthven Acers and although Acers took an early 7-4 lead the Fife side soon got into their stride to win the first set 25-14. The second set again saw the Acers take a 9-7 lead before being pegged back and although this set was much closer it was Fifers who finished on top to win 25-21. All Stars the met Team Fife and it was the league leaders who won through 25-18; 25-16 to almost secure the championship trophy.
Second place Kinross also met Aberuthven and they too won through 25-16; 25-12. The Kirnoss side followed up by scraping through against an ever improving Crieff side 25-22; 25-19 to stay tucked in behind the league leaders.

All Stars consolidated third spot after a close fought win against Nae Fear taking the first set 25-18 and scraping through the second set 25-23.

In the bottom five split, a number of games were very close especially the evening opener between Motley Crew and Paris Diggers. Diggers won the first set 25-16 but Crew fought back to win the second set 26-24 resulting in a draw. Crew were involved in another drawn match against Aberfeldy with Crew winning the first set 25-19 and Aberfeldy winning the second set 25-13, scoring the last 9 points without reply. Crew’s third match against Tay Pearls also saw a split result with Crew winning the first set 25-17 but losing the second set 24-21. Paris Diggers had another split result against Kinross High School with Diggers winning the first set 25-20 and Kinross High winning the second set 23-20. The Aberfeldy versus Kinross High game finished with the Breadalbane side winning 25-16; 24-20. Final game of the evening saw Aberfeldy defeat Tay Pearls 25-18; 25-16.
