With the imminent “split” due after next Sunday’s recreational league fixtures it is Team Fife who lead the pack, undefeated up to this point in the season.
Ellen Ranklin’s Glenrothes based side opened against Jayne Cafferty’s Nae Fear with the Fife youngsters retaining their number one status with a 25-16; 25-18 win against last season’s league champs. The Fifers second match against Aberuthven Acers again saw them dominate play winning 25-12; 25-8 edging closer to this season’s league title. Acers then played the All Stars and were unlucky to lose 21-25 in the first set. The second set was equally close with Acers leading 22-21 at full time. Al lStars were involved in another close match when they played Karen Crockart’s Tay Pearls edging the first set 25-23 before sealing victory with a 21-10 lead in the second set. Pearls also lost to Kinross 15-25, 8-15.
In the other matches Motley Crew and Paris Diggers beat Kinross High by two sets to love with the Kinross youngsters losing a close game to Aberfeldy 4-5 in the third set after levelling the match taking the second set 25-23. Crieff won their two matches beating Nae Fear 25-22; 15-8 and Aberfeldy 25-16; 25-16.
