With Perth’s Seain Cook over in Cyprus this weekend with the Scottish men’s and women’s beach volleyball teams preparing for the Commonwealth Games in Australia, it is back indoors for the local sides as this Sunday sees the Recreational League Cup take place at Bell’s Sports Centre.

Gregor Walker’s Dodgy Spikers won through against Ian McGrath’s Mental Eagles in what was virtually a title decider with Eagles knowing they had to win and hope Spikers would falter in their final game of the season against SoVoBo.
The penultimate round of Premier Volleyball League games took place at Bell’s Sports Centre on Sunday evening with the tussle for top spot intensifying with teams’ nerves getting the better of them at some times.
Sunday evening’s Premier Volleyball League games at Bell’s Sports Centre saw the title race take another turn with three teams battling it out for this season’s league title.
It was an exciting evening of volleyball at Bell’s Sports Centre with Ian McGrath’s Mental Eagles taking over the top spot from Gregor Walker’s Dodgy Spikers making this year’s title race all the more interesting.
Dunfermline Phoenix Volleyball Club lifted the Perth & District Recreational League trophy on Sunday evening at Bell’s Sports Centre.
Perth & Kinross Junior Boys’ (under 16) volleyball team made the long Sunday trip to Oban to play their second round of Junior National League fixtures. The boys opened against Cavalry Park NUVOC from Edinburgh and although they competed well they lost out by three sets to love.
Sunday evening saw the first Premier League volleyball of 2017 and it was an evening of drama in terms of the destination for this season’s league title.
Colin McGinlay’s Team Fife finished 2016 on top of Perth & Kinross District Volleyball’s Premier League, making it a Fife double with Dunfermline Phoenix currently leading Perth’s Recreational League.
